Horse racing in May at Lingfield Park means the Derby & Oaks Trials. On Saturday 8 May we're racing on the turf, on a day that has been a proving ground for Classic hopefuls since 1932. Classic hopefuls and racegoers from across Surrey, Sussex and Kent descend on Lingfield for this one.
Our turf track bends and dips in much the same way as Epsom, so this is where hopefuls for the Derby and the Oaks come to try it out a few weeks before the real thing. Get to the parade ring early and have a proper look at them, then watch them tackle the downhill run towards home. Spot one here and you could be cheering them on again in June. The noise builds from a murmur to a roar as they come to the line.
Last year the Courtyard had live DJs all afternoon, a laid-back spot between races. The 2027 line-up is coming soon: [CONFIRM 2027 ENTERTAINMENT].

Children 17 and under go free* to the races when accompanied by an adult (*exclusions may apply). Children do not require a ticket in advance and a free ticket will be issued on the day.
