Lingfield Park hosts the Derby Trial for the notorious Epsom Derby. The trial is run annually in May and sees some of the seasons best three year old thoroughbreds battle it out to be a contender on the big day.
Lingfield Park's track proves to be challanging an a true test for any contender for the Epsom Derby with a tight sweeping corner mirroring that of Epsom's track.
Established in 1932, and usually taking place in May each year, the event serves as a trial for The Epsom Derby. In 2019, Anthony Van Dyck triumphed in the Derby Trial, and went on to win the famed race at Epsom and two years later, the runner-up of the 2021 Trials, Adayar, went on to win The Derby. Puppet Master won in 2025.
