Long days, green grass and flat racing on the turf. That's horse racing in May at Lingfield Park, and Monday 17 May lands right in the thick of Derby season. Oxted's Monday afternoons rarely look this good.
Here's one for the racing buffs. Our turf track bends and dips in much the same way as Epsom, which is exactly why our Derby & Oaks Trials have been such a good guide to the Classics. Come round the bend, take the downhill run towards home and you'll see why trainers rate it as a dress rehearsal.
Find your spot on the rail and watch the whole field sweep past, close enough to pick out every set of colours. Before each race the parade ring puts you close enough to size up every runner, so you'll have your own view on who might be one for the big days in June.
A Monday at the races is a nice change from the usual routine, relaxed and friendly with proper racing from start to finish.
Grab a cold drink and a bite to eat from our bars, then head back out to the rail for the next race. Tickets are on sale now from [CONFIRM 2027 PRICE]. Under-18s go free.
Children 17 and under go free* to the races when accompanied by an adult (*exclusions may apply). Children do not require a ticket in advance and a free ticket will be issued on the day.
