There aren't many better things to do in January than stand on the rail at Lingfield Park with a hot drink in your hands. On Friday 8 January the horse racing in January carries on, whatever the sky is doing. For Lingfield village it's practically the end of the garden, so Friday drinks have never been easier to arrange.
Expect quick sprints and close finishes. The All Weather track keeps things fair, so the racing tends to be tight right to the line. Stand by the rail and you'll hear them before you see them, a low drum of hooves that gets louder until they flash past.
Head to the parade ring before each race and see the horses up close, breath steaming in the cold air. Midweek racing is a treat. It's relaxed, there's plenty of room on the rail and you get closer to the horses than you'd expect.
Between races, head indoors to our bars and seating to warm up. There's hot food and hot drinks to keep you warm, and you can be back out on the rail in no time.

Children 17 and under go free* to the races when accompanied by an adult (*exclusions may apply). Children do not require a ticket in advance and a free ticket will be issued on the day.
