The things you need to know when planning your horse racing outfit.
We want all of our visitors at Lingfield Park to have a comfortable and enjoyable experience with us. Lingfield Park Racecourse is a year-round course and as the majority of our events are predominantly outdoor events, dressing for the season is important, making sure you stay warm and dry in the winter, and protected from the sun in the summer.
While there is no strict dress code in place, a lot of our female visitors like to dress for the occasion, in heels and hats and smart dresses. We wholeheartedly welcome this, however it is not a requirement so please come in clothing you feel comfortable and warm in.
Racegoers often choose to adopt a smarter style. We recommend, for example, smart jeans or tailored shorts and a collared shirt for gentlemen. Many customers opt to dress for the occasion on feature race days. Our only request is that sporting team shirts, offensive fancy dress, and flip-flops are not worn when visiting us.
Racing from January through to December means that we see all types of weather, good and bad, so in the winter months we advise dressing for the elements. This includes waterproof coats, appropriate footwear, and warm accessories such as hats and gloves. In sunnier weather, hats and sunscreen are recommended. Our only stipulation is that sporting team shirts, offensive fancy dress and flip-flops are not permitted.
