Statement by Lingfield Park following the racemeeting and Craig David Concert on Saturday 16th September

We received a tremendous amount of positive feedback from guests but are aware there were a number of operational issues which affected some customers’ enjoyment of the event.

The team worked with safety experts and specialist security ahead of the event. As we are sure everyone can appreciate, given the current national situation, there was a need for additional security in place to ensure racegoers’ safety. This included asking customers to hand in umbrellas and glass bottles, including perfume bottles.

During the evening we experienced queues for bars and toilets which were longer than we would have liked. Following Craig David’s performance, the inclement weather meant it took longer than expected for guests to leave the racecourse. If any of Lingfield Park’s neighbours were inconvenienced by the event we apologise and will continue to liaise with the local community ahead of future events.

Any comments or observations from customers are being dealt with by the team on an individual basis. If anyone would like to get in touch with the Lingfield Park team please email

The Lingfield Park team work tremendously hard to deliver a variety of events to our customers, as well as the largest number of race meetings in the UK. This event was delivered under particularly challenging weather conditions and we are genuinely sorry if anyone feels we did not meet their expectations on the day.
